FAQ
What is your approach?
I am trained to practice compassionate person-centered therapy. I tend work from a trauma-informed psychodynamic perspective with a focus on the somatic mind-body connection, which means I work to bring in the whole person, not separate from your history, environment, or body. I utilize attachment theory and Polyvagal Theory to address relational and nervous system injuries. I work to have an anti-oppression, feminist lens in order to address biases and continue my own ongoing growth towards cultural humility.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means that I do not work directly with any insurance companies and I do not accept payment from insurance companies. However, many insurance plans will provide client reimbursement for my services and I will provide a superbill for you to submit claims for reimbursement, if you chose to do so.
How do I know my benefits?
In order to know more about the details of your coverage, I encourage you to call and ask your insurance company the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
Once I hit my out-of-network deductible, what percentage will my insurance cover?
What is the reimbursement rate for a 45 minute individual psychotherapy session (code 90834), couples psychotherapy session (code 90847) or a group psychotherapy session (code 90853)?
Do you offer faith-based perspective?
I offer a Christian perspective only for clients who ask for it.
